The Caucasian chalk circle
Amidst the ruins of a fallen society, a group of hardened citizens decides to revisit their past through storytelling. The chosen play is 'The Caucasian Chalk Circle'. We meet, Grusha, a young servant girl, whose world is turned upside down when she finds an abandoned child. Faced with navigating a landscape of greed and corruption, Grusha’s journey reveals how the lines between right and wrong blur in the face of adversity. The tale confronts us with uncomfortable truths, urging us to contemplate the true meaning of justice and the lengths we would go to protect what we hold dear. In a world lacking in resources, who should they belong to, those who care for them or those who make the best use of them?
